Dork Done Good

You know what? I never liked Mike Pence. You? I always thought he was a bobblehead, a wimp, and a gutless doofus dork. You follow me?

But last Sunday, Caroline Kennedy and her son Jack Schlossberg presented him with the 2025 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award. He received the award for putting his life and career on the line to ensure the constitutional transfer of presidential power on January 6, 2021. You know what? I think the guy deserves it.

Remember that day—the gallows and ropes, the chilling, screaming faces of men and women yelling, “Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence!” Pence, despite all the threats, stood up for principle. And that can be a scary thing. You lose friends and you get death threats all the time.

Today, it’s not so common for individuals to stand up and speak out like Mike Pence did. And today—I can’t believe I’m saying this—but I’ll tip the Irish cap to Mike Pence. Maybe being an Indiana Hoosier gave him the guts to do what he did.

Hey Mike, JFK would’ve been proud of ya.

Keep your dukes up.
