Playin' Hooky

Yeah, along with The SandlotFerris Bueller’s Day Off is one of my favorite movies. What got me thinking about this was a story about the vest Matthew Broderick wore in the film. It’s being auctioned off by Sotheby’s this week, and the cheetah-print vest is expected to go for between $300,000 and $600,000.

In the flick, Ferris sings the Beatles tune “Twist and Shout” while riding on a float in a Chicago parade. The parade was real, and the onlookers on the street didn’t know a movie was being filmed. By the way, “Twist and Shout” is my favorite tune, and that scene on the float was classic.

We handled Cooley Dickinson Hospital for years—until they merged with Mass General. We worked with Christina Trinchero and Marilyn Richards and did some great creative work together. Hey, Christina used to call me “Bueller.” I don’t know, maybe she thought I was capable of mischief and hijinks.

So here’s the deal. The world has gone so wacknuts, don’t watch the news tonight—watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off instead.

Keep your dukes up.
