Stand Out

Yeah, we’ve been working with Myke Connolly since he started Stand Out Truck, his traveling digital billboard company. He always does a bang-up job and delivers great results. I put these trucks in a league with aerial advertising. They’re what I call “bushwhacking” advertising. You can’t ignore ’em. They’re bold, fun, in your face, and they get the word out.

Well, we just teamed up with Myke again. This time for a few of our clients who are using Stand Out Truck for visibility at the Big E. The fair attracted about 1.7 million visitors last year, so it’s really a high-impact event for advertisers. We developed digital board creatives for our clients: Raipher Pellegrino, Stratum Dermatology, Easy Company Brewing (all profits go to support veterans’ groups), Hot Table, and Delaney’s Market.

Speaking of the Big E, our old buddy Gene Cassidy, the Big E president, is taking a few shots to his Irish noggin from the local media. Some are whacking Gene for large crowds. Hey, I thought that was the objective of the great New England fair: bringing in people from all over and boosting attendance. That’s a huge economic boost for the region, which could use it in this economy.

I’ve talked to Gene a coupla times over the last few days, and he’s got his Irish up. Good for him. Ya gotta remember who mentored Gene—his godfather, JFK’s key advisor and Springfield’s own Larry O’Brien. Larry was the former U.S. Postmaster General and Commissioner of the National Basketball Association.

The thing that bothers me around here is that if you’ve got a winner, people start knockin’ ya down. That’s a losing attitude. Let’s cut it with the negatives and promote the winners like that fightin’ Irishman Gene Cassidy. Then we all win.

Keep your dukes up.
